Anyone who loves watching motorsports should consider heading to Auckland next month.


AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND, April 22, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- People who enjoy nothing more than spending a day watching fast cars whizzing around a challenging track should book hotels in Auckland at the beginning of May.

The area around the city will become a rally driver's playground between May 6th and 9th when the annual FIA World Rally Championship event arrives in New Zealand.

It is the 40th time that the event has been held in the country; with all the drivers preparing to battle it out for vital points in the World Championship race.

Spectators will be able to position themselves at various points along the track to watch the thrills and spills of the event.

Anyone who wants to travel in style and see more than just one part of the course may want to consider booking onto the Rally Train on Friday May 7th.

The day-long excursion will take in four stages of the track, including Helensville, Mareretu and Hella Bridge.

Rally New Zealand is the fifth stage in this year's FIA World Rally Championship, with French driver Sebastian Loeb currently at the top of the standings.

He has put in good performances in New Zealand in previous years and is one of just five drivers to have won the race on two occasions.
